The USD National Criminal Procedure Tournament is open to 40 competing teams.  In order to register, please see the below dates and registration instructions.

Early Registration by Invitation

All schools invited to register early may only register one (1) team during the Early Registration period.  The Early Registration period begins June 24, 2019 at 9:00am PT and ends June 30, 2019 at 11:59pm PT.

USD Appellate Moot Court has the sole discretion to decide whether invitations will be extended during early registration and to which schools invitations will be extended. USD Appellate Moot Court also reserves the right not to disclose which teams have been extended early invitations.

General Registration

All schools may register one (1) team beginning on July 1, 2019 at 9:00am PT and ending on July 14, 2019 at 11:59pm PT

Final Registration

All schools may register up to two (2) teams during Final Registration beginning on July 22, 2019 at 9:00am PT and ending on July 28, 2019 at 11:59pm PT.  If a school has registered a team during Early or General Registration, it may register a second team at this time.

Registration operates on a first come, first serve basis. In 2017, General Registration was full within minutes

Registration will take place through a two-step process:

Step 1: Access the 2019 Criminal Procedure Registration Application, which will be available at: http://www.usdmootcourt.com/tournaments/national-criminal-procedure-tournament/. Complete the application form and e-mail your completed application to: sdcrimpro@gmail.com.

Step 2: Pay your registration fee by either (1) electronic payment via Eventbrite or (2) mailing a check made payable to: “University of San Diego- Moot Court.” Checks should be mailed to the following address:

Appellate Moot Court Board

University of San Diego School of Law

5998 Alcala Park

San Diego, CA. 92110.

If your school should choose to pay via electronic payment, in your registration confirmation email you will receive a link and a password to access the USD National Criminal Procedure Tournament Eventbrite page in order to pay the registration fee electronically.

The registration fee is $700 per team or $1,400 for two teams.  Your fee is non-refundable after your entry fee is made via Eventbrite or by check and mailed to the USD Moot Court Office.  Completed applications must be e-mailed to sdcrimpro@gmail.com by the registration deadline.  The first 40 teams to register will be entered into this year’s competition. There is a maximum of two competitors and one coach per team.

The time/date of your emailed application will determine whether your school is one of the first 40 schools to register.  However, if you email an application on time, but fail to pay via Eventbrite or send a registration check postmarked by the deadline, your place in the competition will be given to the next applicant on the waitlist who has met both deadline requirements.

Note: All applications submitted prior to the registration period will be discarded.
